Denver Botanic Gardens and the Guild of Natural ScienceIllustrators (GNSI) are pleased to announce a premier juried exhibition opportunity for GNSI members only, highlighting the subject matter of plants, birds and pollinators. Subjects may include plants only or animals only (birds, pollinating mammals, insects, reptiles and amphibians), however the judging weight will be given to images that emphasize plants and their relationship with their pollinators, or seed scatterers.Eligibility: Open to current GNSI members Jurors:      William Cooper, Queensland, AU; Anna Knights, U.K.; LucyT. Smith, U.K.; Jeff Stephenson, DMNS, Colorado; MerviHjelmroos-Koski, SBAI, ColoradoSubject matter: plants, pollinators and birds Media: Original art only (including digitally created work) in 2- and 3-dimensions. Oil or photography not acceptedSubmissions: Number of entries accepted: 2Fee: $25 per imageDigital files only: Entries must be submitted digitally via CallforEntry.org™, also known as CaFÉ™. CaFÉ™ is a web-based service that has detailed on-line submission instructions and a team of professionals available to address your tech support needs. Submission time: July 8 - August 5, 2013Notification: Acceptances or regrets will be sent via e-mail by September 30, 2013Art delivery: No later than October 28, 2013Presentation: Upon acceptance to the exhibition, artists will submit matted artwork only; no frame. Mats must be 4- or 8-ply white rag, fitting exactly into a 16” x 20” frame (interior measurement, vertical or horizontal). Artists juried into the exhibition will receive detailed information and requirements upon notification.Shipping and Insurance:Detailed delivery requirements will be provided with acceptance notices. Artists are responsible for cost of shipping and insurance to and from the venue. While on site, artwork is insured by Denver Botanic Gardens. For insurance purposes, a valuation of your piece MUST be on file, even if your work is not for sale. Please complete this portion of the entry form accurately upon submission.Sales of Works: Works may be made available for sale,--NFS accepted. Works may not be removed until close of exhibition. If sold, 40% of the sale price will be retained as a commission (10% by GNSI, 30% by the host venue).Publicity and Catalog: Images submitted for this exhibition may be used in a catalog or publicity in print or electronic form for the exhibition and may be used for promoting the exhibition before, during and after its run without further permission being sought.
