Gulf Times – Qatar’s top-selling English daily newspaper - Pakistan/Afghanistan: The fake degree row took another twist yesterday after the Punjab University declared eight legislators’ degrees fake and sent a final report to the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Sources said the HEC had given an ultimatum to all universities concerned to submit report on the fake degrees of legislators. According to the sources, the Punjab University said it had no record of eight parliamentarians in the Punjab Assembly, including Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid’s Muhabbat Khan Marri, Seemal Kamran, Amna Ulfat, PML-N’s Afshaan Farooq, Farah Deeba and Shumaila Rana. Sports Minister and Awami National Party member Syed Aqil Shah’s degree was also termed a fake.
