The Birth of our Lord, celebration eagerly awaited by children and adults, when the light, joy and happiness bring us together and surrounds us with magic in the spirit of winter’s traditions, can also be found this year among the themes of the postage stamps.

To mark one of the most important celebrations included in the Orthodox calendar, Romfilatelia introduces into circulation the postage stamps issue entitled ”Christmas”, illustrating icons from Radu Voda Monastery in Bucharest, place of worship that keeps within its walls the mark of four and a half centuries of history of the city and its believers. Consisting of a postage stamp with the face value of lei 1.00, a ”first day” cover, a philatelic document, the postage stamps issue also contains three special products: philatelic album, a chromolithography and a philatelic set with golden sterling silver stamp.
The philatelic album is created into a limited run printing of 800 copies, equipped with the block of two postage stamps and the first day cover of the issue, both with graphic elements imprinted in gold foiling, numbered in red from 001 to 800 and a maxicard.
Likewise, the chromolithography is achieved into a limited run printing of 200 pieces on which the postage stamp of the issue is applied, containing graphic elements imprinted in gold foiling and having Romfilatelia embossed logo. Last, but not least, the philatelic set with golden sterling silver stamp is an exclusive product, Romfilatelia design, being created into a limited run printing of 600 pieces and representing a premiere for the Romanian philately.
Starting with Thursday, 15th November 2012, the postage stamps issue ”Christmas” will be available in all Romfilatelia shops inBucharest and countrywide.
