Test-Prep Company Accused of Stealing Questions - Archives - The Chronicle of Higher Education: Three weeks after being stung by a coaching school's claims that the computerized adaptive version of the Graduate Record Examinations General Test had proved vulnerable to cheating, the test's sponsors fired back with a federal lawsuit. The complaint -- filed by the Educational Testing Service, the G.R.E.'s policy board, and Sylvan Learning Centers -- accused Kaplan Educational Centers of stealing test questions in violation of federal copyright law, as well as state and federal protections for stored electronic communications.
